My son's car had transmission type symptoms but no check engine light was coming on and staying on for an actual diagnostic reading to be taken.. My normal mechanic referred us to Cottman. They were able to get it in very quickly, check it out and let us know that there was no issue with the transmission. We appreciated that they suggested to keep driving the car until the check engine light came on and stayed on and not just "throw" parts at it trying to fix it that way. Im sure they have saved us alot of time and money! Great company to have done business with and would definitely take our cars there for other issues as they do other work as well.

I had an excellent experience with Cottman Transmission & Total Auto Care in Winston-Salem when I brought in my 2021 Honda Pilot for its 50,000-mile transmission service on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. I especially want to thank Jon Peavy and his team for their exceptional care and attention to detail. They went above and beyond to make sure the service was done properly. Because the vehicle had been driven prior to arrival, the team took the extra timeβ€”over an hourβ€”to allow the transmission to fully cool down before servicing it correctly. They even used a large duct fan to help bring the temperature down, which really shows their commitment to doing the job right rather than rushing through it. That level of patience, professionalism, and respect for the vehicle truly stood out to me. It is clear they take pride in their work and value their customers. I highly recommend Cottman Transmission in Winston-Salem to anyone looking for knowledgeable, honest, and thorough service. Thank you again to Jon and the entire team for a genuine 5-star experience.

Have they have a major issue with truck. I was referred to Cottman transmission and total auto care to resolve my issue. After picking up the vehicle once completed and driving for a couple days, I am very pleased with the outcome.

I own Handyman Joe's and Shades of You Painting company. My 2001 Dodge van allows me to make a good living. 3 weeks ago, the transmission started going out. A friend recommended Cottman Transmission on University parkway in Winston-Salem. They took the transmission apart and analyzed the problem. They rebuilt the transmission and added an external cooler. The van is heavy duty and is always loaded with heavy materials. It works perfectly! It's like I'm driving a new van! I highly recommend Cottman Transmission! Thanks guys and gals at Cottman!
